HOUSTON (December 29, 2009)--A Texas man who was kidnapped managed to send a text message after he was forced into the trunk of his car that led to his rescue, authorities said.

The man was walking to his car on Christmas day in Stafford, near Houston, when two teenagers forced him into the trunk and took him to a bank where they panned to make him withdraw money, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

But after the 28-year-old victim sent the text message, the friend contacted police, who were waiting when the would-be robbers arrived at the bank.

The victim was unharmed.

A 17-year-old was charged with aggravated kidnapping and a 16-year-old was taken into custody.
