MESA, Ariz. (January 3, 2010)--A teenage girl accidentally ran over and killed her 17-year-old brother as the two played around in a shopping mall parking lot in Mesa, Ariz., police said.
Mesa Police spokesman Ed Wessing said the girl dropped off her brother at Superstition Springs Mall Saturday evening and then the two started fooling around as the boy jumped in front of the car and the girl slammed on the brakes.
The last time he jumped in front of the car, however, his sister wasn’t able to stop in time and ran over him.
The boy was taken to a Mesa hospital where he later died.
The names of the two teenagers and the girl’s age were not immediately released.

It seems that there are a lot more folks out there who were "responsible teens" in their youth. I sure don't remember it that way. When I was a teen, everyone I knew - myself included - did things away from home that I cringe to think my teens are out doing now. I think I'm better about talking to my kids than my parents, but ultimately, they are responsible for their own actions. To think a parent is truly in control of a 16/17 year old is to be disillusioned. You have to get 'em when they're far, far younger if you hope to be able to instill in them any sense of responsibility, morality or sound judgement. By the way, Gaper Slalom - well played, sir.
I would like to help inmature teenagers but you just can't fix stupid.
I nominate Susan to drive all teenagers whereever they need to go!
