$7 Million Bond Set For Teen In Deadly Shooting, Violent Home Invasion

Cameron Harrison

WACO (January 8, 2010)--Cameron, Harrison 18, who was wanted in the Dec. 2 shooting death of Matthew “Matt” Ash, 22, who was gunned down in his apartment, was in the McLennan County Jail Friday.

He’s held in lieu of $7 million bond.

Arrest warrants charging capital murder were issued Thursday for Harrison and Antoine Mitchell, 21, who’s held in the Travis County Jail in Austin on an unrelated charge.

Harrison was also wanted in a home-invasion robbery on Dec. 21 in which a Waco couple was attacked while their 12-year-old daughter, who was locked in a bathroom, called 911 on her cell phone.

He’s charged with capital murder, aggravated robbery, trespassing on school grounds, gambling and failure to identify.

Police arrested him Thursday evening at a residence on Dutton Avenue.

Ash, who was shot in the neck in his apartment at the Sandstone apartments at 5101 Sanger Ave. after a knock at the door from a friend, was attending the ATI Career Training Center in Waco with plans to become an air-conditioning technician.

Ash’s friend, Christopher Beals, 28, of Woodway, told investigators that two men were in Ash’s apartment when he arrived.

He said one of the two men suddenly struck him in the face and that as he fell to the floor he heard a gunshot.

Then, he said, the two men ran out of the apartment.

Ash chased them, but collapsed outside, in the commons area of the complex, police said

Beals suffered a minor laceration.

On Tuesday, police said three additional arrest warrants naming Harrison and two other Waco men had been issued in connection with the Dec. 21 home invasion in North Waco.

The warrants name Harrison, Clinton Tynes, 18, and Herman "Trey" Mathews, 19.

Lynn Graham, 21, of Waco was arrested Dec. 30 and charged in the robbery, which occurred in the 4400 block of Cedar Mountain, where two men grabbed the woman at about 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 21 as she went to retrieve a cell phone from her car and forced her back in the house.

Her husband had walked to the door about the time his wife was grabbed and one of the robbers ran to the door and forced his way in.

Once inside one of the robbers made the man take him to the bedroom where the he took the female woman’s wallet from her purse.

The robbers also took some jewelry.

The man was hit in the head with a pistol.

The robbers also tried to kick open the locked door of the bathroom where the victim's 12-year-old daughter was.

The two robbers went outside where they joined a third man.

They all left in the woman’s PT Cruiser, which police found a short time later at North 23rd Street and Park Lake.

The male victim had several cuts on his head.

The female victim was struck at least once over her right eye and had a cut and large knot over her eye.

She was taken to Providence Health Care Center for treatment.

The couple's 12-year-old daughter was not harmed in the incident.
