WACO (January 22, 2010)—At least two accidents, one involving at least three cars, snarled traffic Friday evening on Loop 340 between Interstate 35 and Waco Drive.
Police were diverting northbound traffic off the loop at the Imperial Drive exit because of the accidents.
Paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the accidents, but it wasn’t immediately clear if there were any injuries.

To Someone, I know that Waco Dr. is still Hwy 84. Been here all my life (all 44 years) and we've always referred to the stretch of Hwy 84 thru Waco as Waco Dr. When the article referenced Imperial Drive as being used when diverting traffic, that tells me that the accident was W. Loop 340.

To mutantbusdriver, Then you are not old enough to understand that Waco Drive is still Highway 84, all the way through Waco, and, even through Woodway, and back the other direction through Bellmead. And a Texdot sign on the exit road(across Highway 84) by Richland Mall Office Building that says Meridian.

From all the frivolous "breaking news" briefs, this was a excellent missed opportunity, especially for those leaving work about the time of this pileup. No local station (including the closest on New Road) bothered to report live as I recall!
