Accident On Highway 84 Snarls Traffic, Injures At Least One

GATESVILLE (January 29, 2010)--A traffic accident Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 84 east of Gatesville has traffic slowed to a crawl.

Details were sketchy Friday evening, but it is known at least one person was flown from the scene to Scott & White Hospital In Temple.

The condition of the injured person is not known.

The Coryell County Sheriff's Office has warned drivers to be cautious in that area between South Mountain and Gatesville because of efforts to clear debris from the roadway.

A witness who called News 10 said power lines are down in the area because at least one of the vehicles involved struck a power pole and snapped it in half.

Emergency crews remained on the scene at 5 p.m.
