GATESVILLE (February 4, 2010)-A Ft. Hood man was sentenced to a 50-year prison term Wednesday for stabbing another man who refused to allow the assailant to use a pick up truck.
Michael Curtis Blair, 30, was sentenced in 52nd Judicial District Court after Blair pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery during which he stabbed another man several times in the stomach, chest and neck for refusing to let him borrow a truck. Copperas Cove police requested an arrest warrant for Blair on Sept. 29, 2008, after Richard Myers,60, of Copperas Cove was found stabbed numerous times.
Denton police arrested Blair two days later.
During the punishment phase of the trial Myers testified he was house-sitting for a friend at the time of the stabbing and had allowed Blair to stay at the house.
Myers testified he refused to allow Blair to borrow the homeowner's vehicle and Blair began to stab Myers until he told Blair where the keys were. Blair, who testified he had been using drugs on the day of the stabbing, had served three tours in Iraq.
State law requires to serve at least half the sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Well I personally know this man and I can say that there were no psychological test done on him and he very well needed them done, he was in the Marines when he did his first tour and he should have had one done upon his avail back to the states at least before they let him join the army I think that they are suppose to give you one before they let you in but I guess since he was prior service they didn't give him one.. All I'm saying is that my friend needed help and if he had gotten it like he was entitled to he wouldn't be in the position he's in today.
Honestly the comment of serving three tours in Iraq is irrelavant and is no freaking excuse. Other military personnel have served 3 plus tours and have not done anything like this so what is his excuse? An eye for an eye here he deserves what he gets. Way To Go Justice System. No sympathy for this @$$clown.
While I applaud all our men and women who serve in the military, one's service does not give leave to commit crimes. He should be held accountable for his actions.
