(July 15, 2007)--Patricia Schultz has been hooked on travel since she was a four-year-old riding in her family's station wagon from their upstate New York home to Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Her wanderlust eventually led to the runaway hit "1,000 Places to See Before You Die," which remains on best-seller lists four years after its publication.
The book that covered sites across the world from Egypt's pyramids to Low Country cuisine in South
Carolina even inspired a cable TV show on the Travel Channel.
This summer, Schultz offers travelers a closer look at the United States and Canada with "1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die."
It highlights attractions from Christmas in New York to the sprawling Big Bend National Park in
West Texas.
Schultz made a recent stop in Dallas during a summer book tour.
She says, "People have always loved to travel. People will always love to travel. It's as old as mankind."
Her horizons began to expand with a month-long trip at the age of 14 to the Dominican Republic, where she stayed with the family of a high school friend.
She's 54 now and finds that "the more you travel, the more you realize that you've seen nothing."
