(July 18, 2007)—Belton police Wednesday were investigating a head-on collision that claimed the lives of two Temple residents.

The accident happened just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of East FM 93.

Investigators say a Suzuki Forenza driven by Ashley Taft, 25, of Temple, crossed several lanes of traffic and collided head on with a Mazda 626 driven by Latisha Curtis, 40, of Temple.

Taft and Temple were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Mazda, William Wright, 56, was seriously injured.

He was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
