HOUSTON (March 6, 2010)—Jose Garcia, Jr., 31, who nearly killed a federal marshal in a courthouse attack, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Garcia was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Houston.
He’s already serving a 50-year sentence for the murder of his cousin.
The sentences will be served concurrently.
Garcia pleaded guilty in the May 2009 attack on the federal marshal.
While in custody, Garcia lunged at the deputy marshal at the federal courthouse in McAllen and slashed his throat with a razor blade.
Garcia told authorities he had "felt a vibe" when he saw the deputy marshal earlier that day and that "he wanted to get him right there."
The marshal survived the attack, but it took nine stitches to close the wound in his neck.

Forget sending him to prison that place is to good for him, let the US Marshall do justice and slash his throat from ear to ear. "DO UNTO OTHERS AS THEY DO UNTO YOU".
Maybe he will feel a vibe in prison.
HE SHOULD NEVER EVER GET OUT OF JAIL.SOUNDS LIKE HE IS A DANGER TO EVERYONE.AND DONT KNOW HOW RESPECT THE LAW.
