MINEOLA (March 8, 2010)—Department of Public Safety Trooper Larry Vaughn of Quitman was in critical, but stable condition Monday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after he was shot during a warrant sweep in East Texas.
Trooper Silvia Jennings in Tyler said Vaughn was wounded while backing up Wood County sheriff's deputies who were serving an aggravated assault warrant at a house on Farm Road 1801, just east of Mineola.
Jennings says a gunshot fired through a window from inside the house hit Vaughn in the face.
A man inside the house then surrendered, she said.
Vaughn is expected to recover.
Timothy Charles Parmer, 45, of Mineola was charged Monday with attempted capital murder in the shooting and with aggravated assault in connection with the previous incident.
No bond was set.

this guy just turned a simple "probation revocation" into an attempted murder ... what an idiot. Our prayers and thoughts are with Trooper Vaughn for a full recovery.
Timothy Parmer should have nerer made it to the sheriffs office. PIECE OF CRAP
Better be in jail for attempted murder now.
