AUSTIN (March 8, 2010)—Erick Armando Nuncio-Moreno, 19, whose speeding car veered out of control Saturday and struck a bus stop in Austin, killing two women, was charged Monday with manslaughter.
He remained in the Travis County Jail Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
An arrest affidavit says Nuncio-Moreno pulled up to a stop light at South First Street and Stassney Lane about 7:30 a.m. Saturday and revved the engine of his Toyota Celica.
When the light turned green, Nuncio-Moreno sped off, and lost control at a curve.
The car slammed into the two women who were waiting at a bus stop.
Both of them died.
Police haven't released the women's names, but the affidavit said one was 53 and the other was 28.
