WACO (March 9, 2010)—A two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Waco sent two drivers to a local hospital.

A Ford Explorer and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck collided just before 3 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North 17th Street and Washington Avenue.

Police said the driver of the Explorer was headed west on Washington and ran a red light at the intersection.

The Explorer collided with the pickup truck, which was southbound on North 17th Street.

The force of the crash pushed the Explorer into a high wall in front of Ahler's and Associates Software, a business on the southwest corner at 17th and Washington.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital by East Texas Medical Center ambulance.

The driver of the explorer was unconscious, police said.

No one inside the building was injured.

Both North 17th and North 18th Street were closed to traffic at Washington because of the accident.

The person driving the SUV was not on crack, cell phone or suicide mission. Where do you people get your information? Before you start making assumptions have your facts straight. That person has family members who read your comments and are not very happy about what was being said. No one really knows what happened at the time of the crash and unless you were involved in the accident keep your comments to yourself. I hope the driver of the truck is OK and his family is not having to endure the rude comments. The driver of the SUV is a member of my family.

For every ones information there was not a cell phone in use,the explore driver does not own a cell phone and was not on crack. I know this information because this is a family member of mine. He had been living out of town for the past 4 years and was looking for a place to get a hair cut. A number of things could have gone wrong to cause this accident. This was also no case of a suicide mission either. For the sake of families please think about what your comments are before posted. Thankfully this member of my family is okay.
