WACO (March 11, 2010)—Two men were in custody after a 76-year-old woman was attacked and robbed Thursday morning in the restroom of the Walmart Supercenter at Interstate 35 and Loop 340 in Bellmead.

Bellmead police said a man followed Evelyn Hromadka into the restroom of the store just after 10 a.m. Thursday, attacked her and took her purse.

The man ran from the store and got in a white Ford Explorer that another man was driving, police said.

Hromadka was injured in the attack.

She was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, police said, but information about her condition wasn’t immediately available Thursday afternoon.

Officers responding to the call spotted an SUV matching the description of the getaway vehicle on the Interstate 35 access road, not far from the store.

Officers pulled the SUV over in the 1400 block of Nealton.

One of the two men in the vehicle jumped out and attempted to escape, but was captured after a short foot chase, police said.

Both men were taken to the McLennan County Jail.

Michael Hart, 42, was charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest and failure to identify, police said.

Terry Harris, 51, was charged with aggravated robbery, police said.

Had it not been for the quick thinking of co-mgr Yim & another associate these rift rafts might have gotten away. They wrote the license plate number down & called the police. These scumbags were arrested shortly thereafter. It is not Wal Mart's fault that this happened no more than had it been at Parks Family Buffet. They do not invite criminal action into their stores. It is sad when things of this nature happen but life goes on. I am sure the lady who was attacked knows that if there was anyway that WM could have prevented this incidence they certainly would have. I know this mgr Yim and he is as good as it gets.
