Resident Awakens To Find Mobile Home In Flames
The Red Cross was providing assistance Thursday to a Harker Heights man whose mobile home went up in flames late Wednesday night.

HARKER HEIGHTS (March 11, 2010)—The Red Cross was providing temporary housing Thursday for a Harker Heights man whose mobile home was destroyed by fire Wednesday night.
The man, whose name wasn’t released, told firefighters that he was awakened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday by a sudden sensation of heat.
He escaped from the burning mobile home without injury, but was treated for smoke inhalation.
Nearly a dozen Harker Heights firefighters responded to the fire at 205 West Robin.
The Killeen Fire Department provided additional support.
Harker Heights fire investigator Stacey Allen later determined that the fire started outside of the mobile home, near a gas-powered generator.
The fire destroyed the mobile home and its contents and caused heat damage to two adjacent structures, firefighters said.

Anyone that lives in a Mobile Home needs to have working smoke detectors, and a plan of escape. As reported by the National Fire safety Comission, it only takes eight(8) minutes for a mobile home to fully burn. Glad the man made it out safely! And junior get a life!
