DALLAS (March 12, 2010)--At least four incendiary devices have been found in the mail in recent weeks in East Texas, authorities said.

U.S. Postal Inspector Amanda McMurrey said Friday one device was found earlier this week at a mail processing facility in Owentown near Tyler, about 90 miles east of Dallas.

McMurrey said postal inspectors are investigating the origin of the device, which was found Tuesday night.

She declined to describe the device, but said there it posed no threat to the public.

The Tyler Morning Telegraph reported that the device was described in a Smith County sheriff's report as a beer bottle filled with gasoline and containing a wick.

Rusk County Sheriff Danny Pirtle said two other devices were found recently in his jurisdiction.

Kilgore Police Lt. Roman Roberson says one device was found in Kilgore.
