COPPERAS COVE (March 12, 2010)—A concrete truck that overturned after a collision with a Jeep Friday on U.S. Highway 190 in Copperas Cove has been removed from the roadway, police said late Friday afternoon.

Two people who were riding in the Jeep and the driver of the concrete truck were all injured in the accident and were taken to area hospitals.

None suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of U.S. 190 E. and Avenue D.

Police said the eastbound concrete truck overturned and struck the Jeep and a fire hydrant after the driver swerved to miss another car.

The names of the injured weren’t immediately released.

This is the second accident that involved a Ratliff truck within the span of a few months in Copperas Cove! There was an accident in February by the 7 Eleven on 190, where the driver of the cement truck that was in the middle lane tried to change lanes to the right land, and ran into a blue civic. This caused the civic to turn paralell to the truck. The truck then pushed the civic about 20 feet or so before coming to a stop (it looked like it had been tboned). Luckily the driver was not seriously hurt. These drivers have a greater responsibility to follow the rules of the road because they are more likely to cause serious injury or death.
