Burglars Leave Coryell Residents on Edge

Coryell County Sheriff Johnny Burks told News 10, "Most of this is all driven by drugs. You know meth and cocaine, drug users, they're trying to find any way they can to get their fix. One thing they do is go around here and burglarize places and get things to sell and get money."
The sheriff said high-dollar items are being stolen while residents are away from home.
In Gatesville, police report car burglaries have increased. Law enforcement officers warn residents to lock up before leaving home and keep valuables out of sight in cars.
