Registered Central Texas Sex Offender Charged In Second Incident

MARLIN (March 20, 2010)—Registered sex offender Joshua Mayes, 18, of Marlin, was in the Falls County Jail Saturday, charged in connection with an incident involving a 14-year-old girl.

Officers arrested Mayes on Friday at his residence, Marlin Police Chief Darrell Allen said.

At the time of the arrest, he was on probation for the first offense, which happened in 2009.

The new charge stems from an incident reported Monday by the girl’s parents, Allen said.

Allen said Marlin police will be aggressive in going after suspected child sex offenders and encouraged residents to report suspicious activity.
