Truck Driver Ordered Held In Immigrant Smuggling Case

A Fort Worth District Judge Monday ordered Alvin Auxter, 52, held until his next court appearance.

Auxter was arrested Sunday after 79 illegal immigrants were found packed inside a trailer during a routine traffic stop in southwest Fort Worth.

A Department of Public Safety trooper pulled the truck over after he noticed that it didn’t appear to display appropriate commercial documents.

None of the 79 immigrants was injured.

Investigators believe the immigrants had been picked up in El
Paso.
