Five Americans Die In Helicopter Crash In Iraq
Five US troops died Tuesday when their helicopter crashed in Iraq’s volatile Al Anbar Province.

(August 14, 2007)—The US military says five American service members were killed in a helicopter crash west of Baghdad.

The helicopter crashed near an air base in Iraq’s volatile Al Anbar Province.

The troops were taking the CH-47 Chinook on a routine post-maintenance test flight at the time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A Marine spokesman says emergency response crews have sealed off the site,

Meanwhile the military says three soldiers were killed in an explosion near their vehicle Monday and another soldier died in fighting in Baghdad.
