At least five other people died in Texas in the storms and flooding left from Tropical Storm Erin.

In Oklahoma, where the remnants of the storm soaked the region, six deaths are reported.

Among those killed in the storm include the wife, daughter and niece of Kiowa Chief Billy Horse.

Donita Horse, Helen Rae Horse and Rose Saddleblanket died when their van was swept off State Highway 58 in the Lawton area.

Emergency shelters have been set up and roads are still closed in parts of Oklahoma because of the flooding.
