Victims Of 2nd Deadly Texas Pipeline Explosion Identified

LUBBOCK (June 9, 2010)--Officials Wednesday released the names of two men who were killed when a natural gas pipeline exploded Tuesday afternoon near the Texas-Oklahoma line.

Lipscomb County Sheriff James Robertson said Wednesday Steven Douglas Odell, 32, and Johnnie Mike Renner, 44, died when a bulldozer hit the pipeline Tuesday afternoon near Darrouzett in the Panhandle.

Both men were from Pampa.

Another person was hospitalized after the blast, but Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City refused to release a condition Wednesday.

Two others were treated at the scene.

The bulldozer crew was working for an oil services company when it hit the line Tuesday afternoon.

The natural gas explosion was the second in two days in Texas.

One worker was killed Monday when a crew digging holes for utility poles struck a 36-inch natural gas line west of Cleburne.
