LAREDO (July 5, 2010)--Manuel Arizola, 21, his girlfriend Johanna Sandoval, 21, and their 11-month-old son, Romen Arizola, died Saturday in a head-on collision between their car and an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35 as they were driving to San Antonio.
DPS Trooper Tony Salas said the crash happened about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 35 northbound about 45 miles north of Laredo when a southbound tractor-trailer rig filled with sand crossed the median into the car's path.
Salas says said Arizola’s 13-year-old sister, Victoria Connie Arizola, was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition.
