Crime Does Pay For One Local Sheriff’s Office
A local sheriff’s office that took part in the round up of dozens of members of a Mexican drug cartel has a new fleet of vehicles purchased with its share of the seized assets.

HILLSBORO (July 9, 2010)—The Hill County Sheriff’s Office has a new fleet of vehicles, paid for with its share of assets seized during the round up of more than 80 members of methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking networks linked to Mexico’s La Familia cartel in October 2009.

In raids around the country, officers seized more than 220 pounds of methamphetamine, 4.5 kilograms of cocaine, $660,000 in cash, 50 firearms, 53 vehicles, a boat, two ATVs, a camper and two real properties.

The haul was in addition to more than 650 pounds of methamphetamine, 135 kilograms of cocaine, more than 100 firearms, more than $2.4 million in cash and more than $1 million in other assets seized in North Texas from customers and drug organization members.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration led the multi-agency effort that led to the arrests and seizures.

Seized assets were divided among the participating federal, state and local agencies.

You will never get rid of drugs no matter what you do its part of the world and it will only get worse

Good job. Now everytime a drug dealer sees an officer driving around in a new patrol car, he will be the one hopefully) thinkging twice about his choices. This will be a constant reminder to the dealers/drug heads they can be caught and punished.
