WACO (July 13, 2010)—A Monday night fire in northwest Waco heavily damaged an duplex and left two families displaced.
The fire was reported at about 10:40 p.m. Monday on Tennyson Drive at Richland Drive.
First-arriving fire units reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the two-story duplex.
Both families were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Six Waco Fire Department units responded to the scene and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly.
The fire left the duplex heavily damaged from fire, smoke, heat and water.
The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting the families with shelter and other needed items.
Firefighters at the scene said the cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
