WACO (July 8, 2010)-- A Bellmead daycare says its launched an investigation into how some of its kids, around the age of 6, ended up in an R-Rated movie at the Starplex Cinema Six on North Valley Mills Drive in Waco on Tuesday.
A man who identified himself as the husband of the owner of Young Expressions Childcare in Bellmead says the daycare would never condone its kids seeing a movie with that rating.
The movie in question is, "Death at a Funeral." The Motion Picture Association of America, which rates movies, gave the movie an R-rating for language, drug content, and some sexual humor.
Outside the theater, a woman walking out of the movie said she thought the movie was inappropriate for children.
"Too much profanity, too much." the woman told News 10.
A recording at the theater says children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult in any R-rated movie.
A local theater manager declined comment, referring News 10 to its corporate office. No one could be reached there Tuesday evening.
The daycare says its notified parents and will send a note home with the kids tomorrow.
It also says its launched an investigation, and the person responsible will be reprimanded.
