WACO (July 22, 2010)-Charles Wayne Pierson, of Temple, will spend the next five years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.
Pierson was sentenced to 60 months incarceration, five years supervised release, a $5,000 fine and a $100 special assessment by Federal District Judge Walter Smith.
Pierson was accused of possessing images that depicted minor children engaging in sexual activity and that the images had been transported across state lines.
Prosecutors alleged the crime was discovered by FBI agents who were conducting a routine investigation of internet pornography.
Pierson admitted his involvement during an interview with FBI agents at his Temple home.
Agents stated on April 24, 2009, Pierson possessed more than 600 images of children engaging in inappropriate behavior on his homer computer.
