WACO (November 6, 2012)--A City of Waco vehicle was involved in a traffic accident Tuesday morning that sent three people to a local hospital.

The accident happened at around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday at Herring Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Police at the scene said the driver of one of the vehicles failed to yield right of way at the intersection, which resulted in the collision.

The car was eastbound on Herring and the truck was southbound on MLK.

The driver of the car and a passenger and the driver of the City of Waco Solid Waste truck all were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of what police called minor injuries.

Traffic at the intersection was slowed while it was being diverted around the accident.
