TROY (November 20, 2012)--For a second day in a row a multiple-vehicle accident slowed traffic to a crawl Tuesday on Interstate 35 between Waco and Temple.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the accident involving nine vehicles reduced northbound traffic to one lane.

Police and emergency crews were sent at around 2:25 p.m. to mile marker 306, about a mile south of Troy, where several vehicles had collided.

Troy police Chief David Lowrey said there were reports of minor injuries, but no one was taken to a hospital.

Lowrey said the accident was a chain reaction crash, but it was not immediately clear what caused the initial wreck.

A TxDOT spokesperson said traffic was backed up along the Interstate as far south as North Loop 363 in Temple, but a police officer said the accident scene had been cleared by around 3:45 p.m.

The accident was about eight miles south of the 13-vehicle chain reaction crash Monday that killed a 24-year-old Dallas man and left 17 others with mostly minor injuries.

Also Tuesday afternoon, a two-vehicle accident on northbound I-35 about a half mile south of Midway Drive in Temple backed up traffic for several miles and a four-vehicle accident near Big Elm Road north of Troy slowed traffic for about three miles, TxDOT said.
