CORYELL COUNTY (January 23, 2013)—The Department of Public Safety was investigating Wednesday after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday near Gatesville that left one man dead.
Lloyd Jay Bennett, 52, of Killeen died after a 1997 Ford pickup truck struck the side of his 2008 Chevrolet van just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of FM 215 and County Road 248.
The van rolled and Bennett was ejected, the DPS said.
Investigators determined that Bennett was driving south on FM 215 when the driver of the pickup, which was westbound on CR 248, failed to stop at the intersection.
The pickup struck the driver's side of the van, the DPS said.
