Agents Find $333,000 Hidden In A Car At Texas Border Crossing

EAGLE PASS (February 10, 2012)--Officers at a South Texas border crossing confiscated nearly a third of a million dollars in unreported cash hidden in a car, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

Slightly more than $333,000 was seized at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

Investigators said the currency was in 18 bundles discovered Wednesday in the undercarriage and dashboard of the vehicle.

The driver was taken into federal custody.

Cash carried into and out of the U.S. must be declared if the amount is $10,000 or more.
