MISSOURI CITY (May 6, 2014) Authorities have removed a six-foot alligator from a Houston-area piano teacher's front yard after a student spotted the reptile resting under a bush.

Missouri City police and animal control officers helped monitor the creature Monday until a Texas game warden arrived and safely removed the alligator.

The alligator was taken to Wharton County for release into the wild.

Piano teacher Tanya Chaovaletz says she saw people gathered in her front yard, but wasn't sure what was happening until one of her students told her about the gator.

Nobody was hurt.

A small lake in the neighborhood has a sign that says, "Beware Of Alligators."
