WACO (October 17, 2013)—At least one student was taken to a Waco hospital Thursday after an undetermined number of students took pills that a classmate brought to school, police said.

The incident happened Thursday morning at the Axtell/Bruceville Eddy Learning Center at 2601 Franklin Ave. in Waco.

The alternative school’s principal called police after discovering the students took the pills, police said.

The student who was taken to the hospital was a girl.

It’s not clear how many students shared the pills and police didn’t immediately say what kind of drug was involved.

Other students were being evaluated at the scene late Thursday morning, but classes continued as usual.
