Amber Alert For Missing Texas Boy Cancelled

AUSTIN (December 20, 2013) Jagger Curry, 5, of North Richland Hills, for whom an Amber Alert was issued Friday morning, has been found safe and his non-custodial mother Jennifer Lynne Echeverria, 30, has been taken into custody, authorities said.

The alert was cancelled just before noon Friday

Police spotted Echeverria and the boy through a neighborhood in Haltom City after officers found the woman’s 2003 Silver Lexus parked in a residential area.

The boy was returned to his grandmother.

Echeverria was arrested.

She was later charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and additional charges are possible, police said.

Her bond was set at $250,000 bond.

The boy was taken from his grandmother’s home at around 8 a.m. Friday in North Richland Hills.

The grandmother was threatened as the boy was taken, police said.
