BRAZOS COUNTY (August 6, 2012)—Tracey White, 33 of Bryan, died Sunday after a piece of angle iron that evidently flew off the trailer of an oncoming 18-wheeler crashed into the windshield of the pickup truck in which she was riding.

White was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup, Charles Robert, 35, wasn’t injured, KBTX-TV reported.

The driver of the 18-wheeler didn’t stop after the accident, which occurred as Robert and White headed east on Highway 21 in northeast Brazos County.

The truck was westbound on the highway.

The Department of Public Safety is asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the Bryan Highway Patrol Office at (979) 776-3101.
