Man Wanted In Neighborhood Assault Arrested

A man wanted in an assault in a local neighborhood whom police described as armed and dangerous was in custody Sunday, thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

KILLEEN (January 19, 2014) Carlos Derell Collins, Jr., 27, who was wanted in connection with an assault in a Killeen neighborhood, was in custody Sunday, thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

Collins whom police described as armed and dangerous, was arrested at a hotel in Temple on a warrant charging aggravated assault.

A Crime Stoppers tip late Saturday afternoon led to the arrest, police said Sunday.

Collins was in the Killeen City Jail Sunday afternoon.

The warrant stems from an assault that was reported at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday in the 4800 block of Peppermill Hollow

The victim told officers he was attacked by an acquaintance, who then ran out of the house.
