Arson Fire Heavily Damages Local Restaurant

By: Paul J. Gately Email

LAMPASAS (November 20, 2012)--A Lampasas restaurant was severely damaged by fire Sunday morning in what investigators are calling an arson.

The Lucky Ranch Grill, at 311 East Third St., was closed at the time of the fire, which was reported at around 10:20 p.m. Sunday.

Lampasas Fire Chief Terry Lindsey said firefighters got the fire under control quickly and were able to prevent the flames from spreading throughout the building as well as to other structures in the area.

Lindsey said the inside of the structure on the southeast side suffered the heaviest damage from fire and heat.

Lampasas police and fire investigators remained at the scene throughout the night and investigators from the state fire marshal's office arrived Monday to investigate the blaze.

Firefighters said Tuesday they believe the blaze was intentionally set.

Both fire and police investigators are continuing their investigations.
