Assault Victim Found In Car Along I-35

WACO (November 28, 2013) A woman who was injured early Thursday morning in an assault was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after officers found her in a car parked along the side of Interstate 35 in Waco.

The woman, whose name was not released, was found in a car stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 35 near the Waco Drive exit, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Officers were dispatched just before 3 a.m. Thursday to check on the car, which was stopped on the shoulder of the highway in front of the Collin Street Bakery.

The woman's injuries were not severe, Swanton said, but she was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.

Information about where the woman was assaulted wasn't immediately available and no arrests have been made, Swanton said.
