AUSTIN (October 23, 2012)—The southern portion of the Texas 130 toll road opens to traffic Wednesday with an 85-mile-per-hour speed limit.
The 41-mile stretch links from Mustang Ridge through Travis, Caldwell and Guadalupe counties to Interstate 10 near Seguin and is an extension of the Texas 130 toll road, which connects Georgetown to south Austin.
The system is automated, but drivers without electronic toll tags will have to pay a surcharge.
Drivers can use the toll road for free for the first two weeks, but payment will be required beginning on Nov. 11.
The toll for cars and two-axle trucks amounts to about 15 cents per mile.
