Autopsy Ordered After Texas Infant Dies In Foster Home

HUNTINGTON (July 21, 2014) An autopsy was scheduled Monday after a 2-month-old girl died at an East Texas home as her foster mother ran an errand and left the baby with several other adults.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office did not immediately release the infant’s name.

Sheriff Greg Sanches says an initial investigation indicated the baby died of natural causes.

Sanches says the foster mother had to pick someone up Saturday and left the sleeping child in the care of several family friends at a home near Huntington.

One of the adults who later checked on the infant discovered the girl wasn’t breathing and called 911.

Child Protective Services was notified.
