WACO (March 4, 2013)-0A Baylor University freshman died Sunday morning at a local hospital after he fell during a dance rehearsal Saturday night and hit his head.

Baylor University spokeswoman Lori Fogleman said Kevin Signo was participating in a dance rehearsal Saturday night as part of a student organization when during a break in the practice he attempted a flip and struck his head.

He was taken to a local hospital where doctors said he broke his neck in the fall, Fogelman said.

Signo was a pre-biology major from Frisco, Fogelman said.

He lived in Martin Hall and was involved in Baylor’s Filipino Student Association, a campus-wide e-mail said.

The association was practicing traditional dances at the time of the accident.

A funeral service for Signo will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Turrentine, Jackson & Morrow Funeral Home at 2525 North Central Texas Expressway in Allen.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
