The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. under the Pershing Park pedestrian bridge at the Willow Springs exit.

Information about what the truck was carrying wasn’t immediately available, but the fire, which broke out in the cab and spread to the trailer, produced a large plume of dense black smoke.

Eastbound 190 under the bridge was closed to traffic because of the fire and westbound 190 was closed after the State Highway 195 exit.

Eastbound motorists can take Business 190 and westbound drivers can take Highway 195 to Business 190 to avoid the accident scene, authorities said.

Westbound traffic was diverted off the highway at the Fort Hood exit, police said.
