CHINA SPRING (September 6, 2013)—A 6-foot non-venomous rat snake that evidently was making its way through the plumbing in a Waco-area resident's home ended up stuck halfway out of the drain of a bathroom sink Friday.
McLennan County sheriff’s deputies who responded to the home on Norm Street in China Spring arrived to find the snake wedged in the drain pipe.
In order to free the snake, they had to remove the sink from the bathroom and take it and the reptile outside.
It appears the snake had recently eaten something it was in the process of digesting, which caused it to get stuck, Lt. Chris Eubank said in an e-mail.
The snake did not survive the ordeal, authorities said.
