MADISON COUNTY (March 21, 2014) Phyllis Robinson, 66, of North Zulch died Thursday night when a piece of oilfield equipment fell from an 18-wheeler and bounced into her SUV.
The accident happened Thursday night on Highway 21 in Madison County between Bryan and Madisonville.
Robinson was driving west on the highway when the equipment fell from the eastbound truck.
"A piece of oilfield equipment broke off the straps of the truck, bounced on the road, hit the driver of the SUV, and she was killed as a result of that accident,”
Department of Public Safety Trooper Ross Bates told KBTX-TV in Bryan.
Traffic was diverted around the accident scene for several hours Thursday night.
