CONROE (July 2, 2014) Divers recovered the body of a 29-year-old woman Wednesday after two boats collided Tuesday night on Lake Conroe, killing another woman and leaving a 9-year-old boy critically injured.

The boy died earlier in the day Wednesday at a Houston hospital.

The woman’s body was found at around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in 30 feet of murky water not far from the crash scene, authorities said.

A 30-year-old woman died at the scene after a bass boat and a pleasure boat collided on the lake at around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office identified the dead as Leilani Cole, 30, her Kristina Cole Frost, 29, and Frost's 9-year-old son Jason Frost.

A 3-year-old girl who was in critical condition earlier Wednesday was reported to be in stable condition Wednesday evening.

The two women, the boy, the girl, two men and two teenage boys were on the pleasure boat at the time of the collision.

The boys were not injured, authorities said.

The two men in the bass boat, who were taking part in a tournament, received minor injuries, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department spokesman Steve Lightfoot said.

One of them was identified as country singer Josh Ward, whose representative released a statement confirming that Ward was on the bass boat.

“Josh was injured in the accident, but he was released from the hospital and will make a full recovery,” a statement released to KHOU-TV in Houston said.

“We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and concerns for Josh, however moment our hearts go out to the families who lost loved ones in this tragic accident. We are praying for all those that were injured and those individuals who did not survive,” the statement said.

Ward was scheduled to play at a Fourth of July celebration at Washington on the Brazos, but was forced to cancel the performance.

The bass boat went over the top of the pleasure boat in the collision and the eight occupants of the pleasure boat were knocked into the water.

Ward and the other man in the bass boat both jumped into the lake and helped pull the eight to safety, authorities said.

Authorities do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.

Investigators were reconstructing the accident Wednesday.

Tuesday night tournaments sponsored by are underway on the lake.

The 3-fish tournament Tuesday night ran from 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., according to the group’s website.
