By: Paul J. Gately Email

WACO (November 16, 2012)—Waco police were investigating Friday after a man was found dead inside an abandoned van.

Officers were sent just before 9:45 a.m. Friday to a used car lot in the 500 block of East Waco Drive after a caller reported finding the man inside a van.

Waco police Officer Steve Anderson said family members found Harold Jackson, 64, in the van, which had been abandoned in a vacant lot next to the car dealership.

Crime scene technicians were sent to the scene to process the van.

McLennan County Justice of the Peace Billy Martin ordered Jackson's body taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science, in Dallas, for autopsy.

Anderson did not say of there was any indication of foul play.
