HOLLAND (March 12, 2013)--A body found Tuesday morning underneath an overturned Jeep Wrangler in a creek along a rural road off Highway 95 northeast of Holland in Bell County was that of a man reported missing earlier, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Steve Stansfield said.
Authorities identified the victim as Thomas Eugene Tircuit, 48, and said the Jeep may have been in the creek since Monday.
Family members reported Tircuit missing Monday.
Bell County Justice of the Peace Don Engleking did not order an autopsy and said the death was accidental.
A passerby spotted the overturned Jeep at around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 14000 block of Sunshine Road.
The body was recovered at around 12:30 p.m.
Crews used several tow trucks to pull the Jeep from the creek early Tuesday afternoon.
It had paper tags and evidently had been purchased recently.
