LAKE BELTON (June 21, 2013)—An autopsy was ordered after searchers recovered the body of a man who disappeared while fishing at Sparta Valley Park on Lake Belton.
Friends dropped off Larry Dixon, 58, of Temple at the park at around 9 a.m. Thursday, but when they returned to pick up him at around 4:30 p.m., they couldn’t find him.

Game wardens using sonar found the body in the water at around 8 p.m. Thursday and the Morgan’s Point Dive Team was called in to recover it.
Bell County Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield pronounced Dixon dead at the scene.
