FORT HOOD (August 13, 2013)--A bomb threat called in Tuesday morning to the Fort Hood Emergency Call Center forced the brief evacuation of workers from the construction site of Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on post.
Fort Hood confirmed the call was received between 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and workers at the site were immediately evacuated.
An initial search of the area turned up nothing, and officials later gave an all clear after determining the threat was unfounded.
A spokesman for III Corps said the bomb threat would have no impact on the court-martial of Fort Hood gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan trial, but the judge ordered a 30-minute delay in the start of the Tuesday session.
