EDINBURG (March 12, 2013)--Border Patrol officials confiscated more than 3 tons of marijuana found hidden in an 18-wheeler that was searched at a South Texas border checkpoint.
The pot, which has a street value of almost $10 million, was found Friday at the Falfurrias checkpoint by a drug-sniffing dog that detected the marijuana hidden in the rig.
Officers recovered more than 6,700 pounds of marijuana that was hidden in the trailer.
The driver was detained.
